This role will work closely with leadership to execute high-quality dishes, maintain consistency, support kitchen operations, and help build a strong back-of-house culture. The ideal candidate has a deep respect for Indian flavors and techniques, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and takes pride in organization, cleanliness, teamwork, and execution.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport daily kitchen operations across prep, line, and serviceEnsure consistent food quality, portioning, taste, and presentationAssist with preparation and execution of South Indian and Indian fine dining dishesMaintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards at all timesHelp train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staffMonitor prep levels, station readiness, and service flowWork with management on menu execution, specials, and seasonal improvementsSupport inventory control, waste reduction, and proper product handlingMaintain a professional, calm, and solutions-oriented attitude during serviceStep into a leadership role when needed and help maintain kitchen discipline and standardsQualifications3+ years of kitchen experience in a restaurant environment preferredPrior experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or strong line cook ready to step upExperience with Indian cuisine preferred; South Indian cuisine experience is a major plusStrong understanding of kitchen organization, prep systems, and line executionKnowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality controlAbility to lead by example and work effectively under pressureStrong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detailWeekend, evening, and holiday availability requiredWhat Were Looking ForPassion for authentic food with elevated presentationStrong palate and attention to flavor balanceSense of ownership and pride in the guest experienceTeam-first mindset with leadership potentialDesire to grow with an ambitious and evolving restaurant brandWhy Join ANANTARAThis is an opportunity to be part of a restaurant that is building something distinctive in the Bay Area.
