Position Type:Elementary School TeachingDate Posted:5/11/2026Location:GFW Elementary SchoolDate Available:Fall 2026Elementary Reading InterventionistPosition PurposeUnder the general supervision of the School Principal, to ensure that every child, regardless of their starting point, develops the foundational literacy skills necessary for lifelong success. This role focuses on providing targeted, data-driven Tier II and Tier III instruction to small groups of students, fostering a love for reading while aggressively closing proficiency gaps through evidence-based practices. Essential FunctionsDeliver explicit, systematic, and multi-sensory reading instruction to small groups (typically 3 6 students) using evidence-based "Structured Literacy" programs.Adapt and modify instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including English Language Learners (ELL) and students with suspected learning disabilities.Manage the instructional minutes required for Tier II and Tier III interventions as dictated by the school's MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) plan.Administer universal literacy screeners and deep-dive diagnostic assessments to identify specific phonological, decoding, or comprehension deficits.Conduct weekly or bi-weekly progress monitoring to track student growth and determine the effectiveness of current interventions.Maintain accurate, digital records of student performance and prepare clear reports for "Data Team" meetings, parents, and administration.Meet regularly with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with core (Tier I) classroom instruction.Serve as a key member of the Student Support Team (SST) and provide data-driven insights for Special Education evaluations (IEP meetings).Model best practices in literacy for colleagues and assist in the selection of school-wide reading resources.Provide staffing coverage in the event of building substitute needs.Additional DutiesPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
