This role is crucial for ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely by optimizing system performance and integrating advanced technological solutions. We understand that a successful business is built on the strength of its people which is why we are dedicated to nurturing talent, fueling success and cultivating potential.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Design and develop control systems for automated machinery and equipment in process and packagingConduct system testing and validation proceduresDevelop and implement software for control systemsTroubleshoot and optimize existing control systemsPrepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and operation manualsEnsure compliance with industry standards and safety regulationsTrain personnel on the use and operation of control systemsPerform regular system maintenance and updatesCollaborate with vendors and suppliers for equipment and software purchasesProvide control system configuration changes required to support turnarounds and capital projects for process and packaging departmentsProcess Improvement and Innovation: Constantly seeking opportunities to improve existing processes, implementing innovative solutions to enhance system performance and efficiencyWork closely with teams across different departments to ensure seamless integration of control systems with various processes and technologiesDevelop and implement SIS strategies to mitigate risks in processesEducation Requirements:BS Degree required - Chemical, Electrical, Computer Engineering desiredSkills & Qualifications:5+ years manufacturing plant experience with a broad technical understanding of plant operations; chemical manufacturing experience idealExperience with PLC programming and troubleshooting such as: Rockwell ControlLogix and/or Modicon PLCsHoneywell Experion PKS (Process Knowledge System) experience preferredKnowledge of HMI systemsFamiliarity with industrial networking protocols and standardsPrevious experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentHands-on experience with robotics and automationAbility to read and understand PFDs and P&ID'sAdvanced problem-solving and analytical skillsMust be a leader with excellent organizational and time management skillsStrong computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWork as a team member as well as independentlyAbility to pass post-offer background check, physical and drug testAMVAC OFFERS: At American Vanguard, our robust benefits are an important part of our compensation.
