QC Chemist
Quality Control ChemistThe Quality Control Chemist for AMVAC's Axis manufacturing site supports product quality, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing operations by performing routine and semi-complex analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products. This role is responsible for executing approved analytical methods, maintaining accurate laboratory documentation, and supporting quality investigations. The QC Chemist works closely with technicians, specialists, and production personnel to ensure testing activities are completed accurately and in accordance with established quality system requirements. We hone our talent, strategy and seasoned experience to better serve the expanding needs of a modern world.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform analytical testing using laboratory techniques such as GC, HPLC, GCMS, pH, density, titration, and other analytical methodsPrepare samples and reagents according to established laboratory procedures and sampling plansOperate laboratory instrumentation and perform routine instrument calibrationsMaintain laboratory equipment and ensure instruments are functioning properlyRecord analytical results accurately in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems while maintaining data integrityReview results for completeness and accuracyNotify supervisory or quality personnel of out-of-specification (OOS) results, unexpected analytical outcomes, or deviations from established test methodsSupport quality investigations by providing analytical data and documentationFollow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment at all timesWork with production and manufacturing personnel to ensure sampling plans and testing requirements are metAssist with training technicians or new laboratory staff when requiredProper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to laboratory safety proceduresWorks 12 hour rotating shiftsSkills & QualificationsBasic understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and laboratory instrumentationExperience operating laboratory analytical instruments such as GC, HPLC, or similar instrumentationAbility to troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and complete procedures in a timely mannerAbility to follow laboratory procedures and quality system requirementsFamiliarity with laboratory documentation practices and quality systemsStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyMicrosoft Office skills including EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint, TEAMS, SharePointStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to communicate effectively with laboratory and production personnelExperience working in a manufacturing or quality control laboratory environment preferredPass background check and pre-employment physicalEducationBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific disciplineBenefitsAmerican Vanguard values our employees and their families.
