Who We AreA tuition-free, open enrollment, K-12 charter school in the southeast community of Colorado SpringsPreparing and empowering all of our students for success on their post-graduate paths through educational excellence, character development, and community engagementDedicated to student proficiency through academic rigor and robust family support through the Atlas family scholarshipDedicated to our staff through offering a competitive total rewards package and providing meaningful professional developmentWho We Serve92% Socioeconomically Disadvantaged86% Hispanic, 6% African American, 7% White, and 1% Asian56% English Language LearnersWhat You’ll DoManage the full accounts payable process, ensuring all transactions are properly documented, coded, and approved in accordance with organizational policies.Serve as a primary point of contact for vendors and internal staff, responding to billing and payment inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Process cash receipts and checks, prepare deposits, and accurately record transactions in the accounting system.Support the PCard program by assisting cardholders, reviewing transactions for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.Provide grant administration support, including processing reimbursements, tracking grant budgets, preparing financial reports, and monitoring program-related financial activity.Post bi-weekly payroll entries in the accounting system and maintain accurate payroll-related records.Perform monthly balance sheet and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.Assist with general ledger maintenance and the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries and supporting documentation.Support budget management by tracking expenses and assisting with budget-to-actual reporting and analysis.Maintain and support strong internal controls and assist with audit preparation and documentation as needed.Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze data, create formulas, and develop spreadsheets that support financial reporting and operational efficiency.Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen financial operations.Perform other related duties as assigned.Compensation & ScheduleSalaried/ExemptAnnual Range $56,385 - $66,225Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as neededBenefitsApproximately 6 weeks of paid school breaks80 hours of annual flex time and 48 hours of annual sick time Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefitsFlexible Spending Account or Health Savings AccountParticipation in the Colorado PERA retirement program (required in lieu of social security as a public employee)100% Employer paid short and long-term disability benefit 100% Employer-paid life insurance benefit of $25,000 (option to purchase more)Access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance ProgramAccess to thousands of employee discounts Annual Calendar and Start Date230 work days per academic yearStart Date: July 13, 2026QualificationsWho You AreRequired Qualifications Education or Experience Minimum:Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 1 year of experience in accounting; orAssociate’s degree in accounting and 2 years of experience in accounting; or5 years work experience in accounting with General Ledger accounting experienceDesire and willingness to learn about Atlas’s history and philosophy and to uphold and promote the mission and values of the school Competency in Microsoft Excel and financial accounting software systemsSuperior time management and the ability to meet deadlines Discretion and confidentialityDemonstrated ability to work with a teamStrong written and oral communication skills Desired QualificationsK-12 Public Charter School experienceFamiliarity with Colorado Department of Education financial reporting requirements and formatsEssential Job FunctionsAbility to sit and stand (conducive to an office environment) for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
