Office Engineer/Document Control

Akana is seeking an Office Engineer/Document Control Specialist to join our team.This is a full-time position some in-office hours may be required periodicallyWe're committed to sustainable solutions and strong community ties, and we're looking for someone who shares that vision.Join a fast-paced construction team supporting transportation and public works projects, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring project documentation is accurate, compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with WSDOT standards.Candidates must be local to the Greater Seattle Area, with experience in document control within construction or engineering projects.What You Will Do (general responsibilities) for this position are shown below:• Provide technical and administrative support• Prepare, process, log, and file incoming and outgoing project documents• Maintain project document filing systems and tracking logs• Perform quality assurance on project documentation• Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready project files• Manage IDRs, field notes, quantity tickets, and source documentation• Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, RAMs, and correspondence• Support preparation of monthly progress estimates• Maintain Record of Materials (ROM) and certifications• Assist with subcontractor compliance (RTS, Statements of Intent, payrolls)• Support FSBE/SVBE/MWBE tracking and reporting• Maintain contract documents, addenda, and schedules• Assist with meeting coordination and documentation• Ensure compliance with WSDOT and regulatory requirements• Assist with SOP creation and document control improvementsWhat We Offer for this position is shown below:• Competitive Salary: Range of hourly $20- $36 hourly (based on experience), plus a robust benefits package that includes medical coverage, short- and long-term disability, 401k with company match (after one year), generous PTO, and 10 paid holidays.• Opportunities for Growth: Collaborative and supportive team environment fosters career growth and development.• Meaningful Work: The chance to be part of a purpose-driven company that makes a positive impact on communities and the environment. We have various committees you can join to help shape the future of our company!RequirementsMinimum Required Key Qualifications for this position are shown below:• 2-5 years of experience in construction administration, document control, or office engineering• Familiarity with WSDOT documentation standards (IDRs, ROM, field notes)• Experience with document management systems (Aconex, ProjectWise, Procore, SharePoint, etc.)• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents• Excellent written communication and record-keeping skills
