The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive government compliance program, including the creation of policies, training, and monitoring activities. This role involves tracking regulatory changes, assessing their impact on the business, and providing strategic guidance to senior leadership. The VP/Counsel will also be the primary point of contact for regulators, auditors, and government agencies, and will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated compliance efforts.Applicants for the VP/Counsel, Government Compliance position at the company should have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. A minimum of 8-10 years' of experience in government compliance, regulatory affairs, legal, or risk management is required, with a strong preference for those with experience working with federal and state regulators. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, demonstrate critical thinking, initiative, and independent judgment, and have strong decision-making and multitasking skills. Proficiency in MS Office, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while operating with minimal supervision are also essential.
