Role: Senior Java Software EngineerLocation: Cary, NC – HybridType: Contract-to-Hire or Direct HireClient: RailincRate: $130-135k yearly with benefits. Important: Due to client requirements, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain high-quality Java applications while meeting project test coverage and quality goals.Design, develop, test, deploy, and troubleshoot applications across front-end, middle-tier, and backend technologies.Collaborate with business and UX teams on user interfaces and application design.Support system, performance, volume, stress, and user acceptance testing.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and participate in on-call support.Work with infrastructure teams on configuration changes and application deployments.Conduct technical analysis, design, documentation, estimation, and development activities.Provide technical leadership and mentor junior developers.Identify and implement new technologies and development practices to improve quality and productivity.Required Qualifications5+ years of Java development experienceStrong expertise in Spring and Spring BootExperience with Angular or equivalent front-end technologiesExperience with REST APIs, HTTP, DNS, and networking conceptsStrong experience with Git and Agile development methodologiesExperience with application deployment, production troubleshooting, and deployment environmentsExperience deploying applications to AWS EKS/KubernetesExperience with both relational and NoSQL databasesKnowledge of JWT, OIDC, and application security conceptsStrong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skillsBachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience preferredPreferred QualificationsHands-on experience building containerized applicationsAWS experience with services such as S3, CloudFront, Lambda, ELB, SNS, SQS, and Route53Experience with Aurora RDS, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDBExperience with messaging/MQ brokersExperience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code toolsAWS Developer or Solutions Architect certificationPlease let me know if you have any questions about the role.
