Hospitalist Physician

Coverage Needed Start Date: As soon as credentialed End Date: Ongoing 12 Hour Shifts: for the rounders, for the admitter, for the nocturnist 7 on, 7 off Clinical Details Level 3 Trauma - Trauma patients are assigned directly to the Surgicalist Bed Size: 190 Patients Per Day: Rounding on 18-24 patients Daily Admissions: 12-18 during the day, 12-20 at night Consults: 1-5 per day Patient Population: Community med/surg/ Elderly: 58%, Middle Age: 32%, Young: 10% Census: Acute ADC 104; Total ADC 121 (average for 2025) ICU Rounding Procedures: Initial Vent Management (Vent bundle required), Vasopressor Titration, Anti-arrhythmic, Nicardipine drips, central lines, paracentesis, Thoracentesis (preferred) Subsequent Vent Management is deferred to the Intensivist who staffs the vent for 8 physical in house hours every day Support Staff: Normal for a community hospitalist; some sub-specialty support Follow Up Cases: Referrals made to community PCPs Open ICU hospitalist model Requirements Board Certification: IM or FP with hospitalist experience Experience: Competency with ICU admissions, running codes, and critical care rounding of up to 8 CCU patients is mandatory Skills: Must be able to independently resuscitate a patient before help arrives; adept at critical care time billing Case Logs: Preferred 2 years Procedures and Vent Management: Preferred DEA must remain in state to maintain privileges. Provider must be willing transfer and maintain DEA in state for the duration of privileges being active, or obtain a new in state DEA to remain in state for the duration of privileges being active Providers living inside of 50 miles from the facility will be considered "Local", and will not be eligible for this role Flexibility in Schedule: Provider MUST be willing to work day AND night shifts Provider MUST be willing to work weekdays AND weekends Active GA license GA DEA Clean file Experience in a similar facility April Availability Must be willing to work all shifts
