Our websites include Sportsmans Guide, Salt Strong, TGW, Play Baseball, and Play Softball.Position OverviewThe Order Wave Area Manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation, release, and management of order waves within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) while supporting the Inventory Control team. This salaried position reports directly to the Outbound Director and is pivotal in ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate order fulfillment. The Order Wave Area Manager will lead a team in operational performance, team development, and continuous improvement initiatives, all while fostering a positive work culture.Responsibilities And DutiesExecute daily waving activities, including order selection, wave building, and wave release within the WMS to optimize order fulfillment.Analyze order profiles, product characteristics, and operational capacity to determine optimal wave grouping.Coordinate with picking, packing, replenishment, and shipping teams to align wave timing with workflow readiness and operational constraints.Monitor wave progress, resolve issues related to shorts, system errors, and capacity conflicts, and adjust wave plans based on real-time operational conditions.Communicate wave priorities and changes effectively to operations leaders and floor supervisors.Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to manage and enhance operational performance within assigned areas.Build and maintain effective relationships across all functional levels to support the organization's mission and strategic objectives.Promote a positive work culture through ethical leadership and effective interpersonal skills while ensuring a safe work environment.Participate in training initiatives and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members, fostering a culture of high performance.Track productivity and compile daily reports as needed, while overseeing timesheet management and attendance tracking for team members.Implement and maintain 6S practices within the workspace and engage in hands-on learning to deepen operational knowledge.Education And ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.1–3 years of Supervisory or Lead experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment; e-commerce fulfillment experience strongly preferred.Strong understanding of warehouse functions, including warehousing processes such as picking, replenishment, packing, and shipping.Comprehensive knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and the ability to use KPIs for monitoring and enhancing operational performance.
