Job Title: Assembly Technician Department: ProductionOrganizational Relationship: Reports directly to the Area SupervisorJob Type: Full-Time OnsiteShift: 1st Shift Monday - Friday (7a-3:30p) Overtime may be required based on customer needs and deadlines. (Occasional weekends)Job Description: Performs a variety of assembly and sub-assembly as required by the customer and/or for production. The following are the duties and responsibilities of the Assembler - either preformed directly and/or via subordinates:Production preparation by studying assembly instructions, blueprints, drawings and parts lists as well as gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and other required materialsPosition components and subassemblies using templates and/or specifications -assembles components by examining connections for conformityOperate light hand power tools not limited to sanders, drills, grinders, hoists and additional specialty tools as required for productionCheck, inspect and troubleshoot, using a knowledge of fiberglass as well as metals, for conformity and repair discrepancies if detectedMaintains inventory levels, anticipating needs and submits procurement requirementsPerform other duties as assigned by management, supervisors and/or managementUnderstand and comply with health, safety and regulatory requirementsMust be able to speak, read, and write EnglishRequired Education and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalentPrior marine industry machining is a plusBasic mathematical skillsMust be able to speak, read, and write EnglishAdditional Skills, Physical Requirements, and Competencies:Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include dust masks, gloves, safety glassesCan work in a hot and humid non-climate-controlled environmentAbility to walk up and down a flight of stairs numerous times a dayAbility to work outsideAbility to work in a fast paced, noisy environmentKnowing chemicals, their dangers, safety procedures, mixing procedures and time limitsAbility to work both independently and as a team memberFollow safety and health standards - use of protective equipment as requiredAbility to work 8+ hour day shifts (sitting, standing, bending and reaching) and moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.Benefits: (Waiting period may apply)401(k)Health InsuranceEmployee assistance programDental/Vision insuranceLife insuranceShort Term/Long Term DisabilityPaid time offJOB DESCRIPTION REVIEW:I understand this job description and its requirements; and that I am expected to complete all duties as assigned.
