Buyer/Planner

Buyer/PlannerColson Group is currently seeking to hire a Buyer/Planner that has strong knowledge of planning, purchasing, and distribution processes. The Buyer/Planner utilizes our SMART demand planning and inventory optimization software in conjunction with customer forecasts to calculate and load planning data into Colson's ERP system. They will also execute all Purchase Orders based on these inputs, working closely with international suppliers. The Buyer/Planner is fully responsible for maintaining inventory targets in our distribution centers and manufacturing facilities; ensuring we have the inventory levels required to meet our customers' expectations for On Time Delivery while prioritizing free cash flow. Leading an impactful SIOP process is critical to the role and successfully bridging the gap between customer and supplier demand. Essential Job Functions Analyze demand and optimal inventory in SMART Review and action PO suggestions in Epicor Lead SIOP processes to align customer demand with supplier signals Ensure inventory targets align with company goals and customer expectations Data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials as needed to meet customer expectations Complete status reports for production progress, work in process and raw material inventory Performs other related duties and projects as assigned Provide regular progress/status updates to senior leadership Track Inventory and On Time Delivery, proactively resolving potential issues Root cause analysis and correction of problems Knowledge Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, supply chain or other related data-driven field required. Prior supply chain process management and optimization experience preferred, preferably in a corporate setting but all similar process management experience considered. APICS certification preferred Experience Planning/International Purchasing 3 to 5 years MRP/ERP system usage - at least 5 years Skills Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products; strong computer skills. Strong analytical skills a must. Autonomous and self-motivated to drive process improvements. Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines. Strong organizational and communication skills. Able to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems. Demonstrates personal time management. Works well with Customers/Suppliers on the phone and via email. Flexibility for handling a wide range of activities.
