Instructional Designer III

OverviewEmployment in this role is conditional upon successful execution of the contract by the client.The WorkThe Instructional Designer III designs and develops curriculum in accordance with the Instructional Systems Design model, Training and Performance Standard Operating Procedures, and Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) standards. This role will work closely with the curriculum manager, other instructional designers, other program offices, subject matter experts and multimedia specialists to design and develop lesson plans, student materials, and instructional media.This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesDesigns, develops, plans, organizes and implements complex training solutionsLeads the development of needs analysis and assessment, program evaluation, instructor evaluation and course developmentLeads in the design and development of course materials using the Instructional Systems Design modelDevelops detailed lesson content and identify appropriate training delivery mechanismsDevelops planning documents, student and Instructor materials and course presentationsDevelops learning goals and objectives, using the Instructional Systems Design model in accordance with Training and Performance Standard Operating ProceduresEvaluates courses and instructors based on performance criteriaDevelops Kirkpatrick Level I, II and II assessments as well as questionnaires and user surveysStays current on policy, law and technology changes, as well as skill requirements and office directivesCoordinates with instructors, subject matter experts (SME), multimedia team and other program officesProvides course management services, including course revisions, instructor performance evaluations, cost assessments, and making recommendations for course retirementAssists curriculum management by maintaining all curriculum records, scheduling and conducting curriculum reviews, making recommendations for updates and changes, and tracking revision historyEvaluates pilot courses to ensure that they conform to Training and Performance Standard Operating Procedures, FLETA accreditation and adult education standardsAttends internal and external meetings as an Instructional Design expertProvides weekly updates of course activities to the curriculum managerProvides the necessary support and guidance to achieve and retain all FLETA accreditation requirements for the Program OfficeOther duties as assigned.QualificationsQualifications – Here’s What You NeedThe qualifications and skills listed below are intended to provide a general overview of the requirements for this position. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to adapt to evolving responsibilities as outlined by the client.Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in adult learning, education or curriculum development; a master’s degree or eight (8) years’ equivalent experience in instructional design, instructional technology, organizational development, or educational psychology preferredAt least eight (8) years of experience in curriculum design and developmentSpecialized knowledge or professional experience in several of the following: instructional systems design, education and adult learning principles, cooperative learning, programming and authoring toolsDemonstrated experience working in all five phases of the Instructional Systems Design modelDemonstrated experience creating assessmentsTwo (2) years as a level II Instructional Designer preferredFamiliarity with SharePoint preferredSecret Clearnce is required.Due to the nature of work at the client’s site, U.S. Citizenship is required.Must be able to pass a background check.
