Associate Data Engineer

Job Description Job SummaryThe Associate Data Engineer assists with the sourcing, transformation, and analysis of data and developing ETL logic to support existing and future deployments.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport sourcing, transformation, and analysis by assisting senior team members in development, maintenance, and deployment of data pipelines and ETL logicAssist in the sourcing, transformation, and analysis of data under the guidance of senior team membersSupport the development of ETL logic and pipelines for existing and future deploymentsAssist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines supporting a medallion architecture as part of the organization's data modernization initiativesParticipate in technical data management functions including creating, loading, transforming, cleansing, processing, analyzing, and visualizing dataCollaborate with teammates and business partners to help build technical solutions that are reusable, scalable, and maintainable across large datasetsDevelop and maintain working knowledge in data reporting, management, and transformation technologiesActively learn new and existing tools, resources, and processesAssist in the implementation of data architecture and solutionsDevelop and deliver code under supervision to support existing and future deploymentsExperience and Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in technology, engineering, a math-related field, or a related discipline with 0 years of experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience0-2 years of experience working with data structures or in a related technical roleIntroductory exposure to algorithm designSome exposure to SQL Server, IDMC, Informatica PowerCenter, Snowflake, and/or Control-MPreferred RequirementsExperience writing basic SQL queries and interpreting simple data modelsExperience using database modeling conceptsPrior internship or academic project experience in a data-related field is a plusSkills and AbilitiesBasic knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design conceptsBasic familiarity with ETL concepts and data integration principlesAnalytical and critical-thinking mindset with a desire to develop problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal communication skills, written and verbalAbility to collect, organize, and analyze information with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with guidance from senior team membersExhibits flexibility and a positive attitude toward ambiguity in a fast-paced, changing environmentResults-oriented with a dedicated work ethicOther RequirementsPerform other functions, duties and projects as assignedRegular and punctual attendanceMinimal travel required (less than 10%)#IND-HP#LI-MK1#LI-RemoteAdditional Information Work EnvironmentsF&G believes in an employee-centric flexible environment, which is why we offer the ability for in-office, hybrid and remote work arrangements.
