Their time, compassion, and talents bring companionship, engagement, and joy to the older adults we serve every day.About the RoleTheVolunteer Services Coordinatorhelps ensure a meaningful and well-organized volunteer experience across the organization. This role supports the Volunteer Services department by coordinating volunteer onboarding, maintaining volunteer scheduling systems, managing records, and providing responsive support to volunteers and staff.By ensuring volunteers feel welcomed, supported, and valued, the Volunteer Services Coordinator plays an important role in strengthening programs that improve the lives of older adults in our community.Schedule : Part-time.Compensation:Part-time, $25.00 per hour.Union Status:This position is part of the BU Professional Optional bargaining unit and has the option of becoming a dues-paying member of Service Employees International Union Local 73.What You'll DoVolunteer Engagement & Support (40%)Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current volunteers.Respond to volunteer inquiries and guide applicants through the onboarding process.Coordinate volunteer onboarding activities including background checks, compliance documentation, and orientation communications.Foster a welcoming and mission-aligned volunteer experience.Volunteer Scheduling & Program Coordination (30%)Coordinate volunteer schedules across programs and service sites.Prepare and distribute volunteer schedules to staff and volunteer teams.Partner with program staff to ensure volunteers are effectively integrated into program activities.Data Management & Administrative Coordination (20%)Maintain accurate volunteer records, including hours, activities, and participation.Manage data entry and recordkeeping in volunteer management systems.Support reporting and program evaluation by maintaining accurate data and documentation.Communications & Volunteer Recognition (10%)Manage volunteer postings and communications across online platforms.Support volunteer appreciation and recognition activities.Collaborate with internal teams to support volunteer events and engagement initiatives.What We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field.2-4 years of experience in nonprofit programs, volunteer coordination, or administrative program support.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience using administrative databases or management systems for scheduling and recordkeeping.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.Preferred QualificationsExperience with volunteer management software or CRM systems.Experience coordinating volunteer engagement or community-based programs.Familiarity with nonprofit or human services organizations serving older adults.Core CompetenciesRelationship Building:Creates welcoming, supportive experiences for volunteers and colleagues.Organization & Attention to Detail:Maintains accurate records and ensures smooth coordination of schedules and processes.Communication:Communicates clearly and professionally with volunteers, staff, and community partners.Collaboration:Works effectively with cross-functional teams to support program success.Mission Alignment:Demonstrates commitment to supporting older adults with compassion and respect.Why Work HereAt CJE SeniorLife, your work has a direct impact on the lives of older adults and the community around them.We offer:Competitive pay and comprehensive benefitsEmployee Life Insurance401(k) Retirement PlanTuition Reimbursement for Nurses, Nurse Assistants, and CNAsEmployee Purchase DiscountsEmployee Discounts on General Merchandise and EnjoymentEmployee Assistance ProgramHealth Club DiscountsLunch and Learn ProgramsOpportunities for professional development and career growthA supportive and collaborative work environmentThe chance to contribute to programs that make a meaningful difference every dayCulture StatementOur work is guided by the values ofRespect, Advocacy, Compassion, Innovation, Intention, and Accountability .
