Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a leading electric vehicle manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Material Flow Engineering Manager. This role is responsible for designing and optimizing end-to-end material flow strategies, leading automation initiatives across manufacturing operations, and ensuring material availability to support high-volume production in a safe and efficient environment.Job DutiesLead the design, optimization, and execution of end-to-end material flow strategies from supplier receipt through production line deliveryDrive automation initiatives utilizing AGVs, ASRS, conveyor systems, and AI-driven logistics solutions to improve throughput and reduce bottlenecksDevelop and analyze material flow models focused on sequencing, batching, storage strategies, cost optimization, and space utilizationOversee factory and warehouse layout design, including material routes, kitting areas, racking systems, and automated material handling equipmentPartner with manufacturing, operations, IT, and continuous improvement teams to implement scalable logistics solutions and production support systemsManage cross-functional projects, vendor relationships, project timelines, and resource planning to achieve safety, quality, and production objectivesConfigure and support material replenishment systems while maintaining accurate inventory and material tracking processesDevelop standardized work instructions, operating procedures, and logistics documentation to improve consistency and operational performanceSkills & ExperienceRequired:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related technical field5–10 years of experience supporting high-volume manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain engineering environmentsMinimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing engineering or logistics teamsExperience developing end-to-end material flow and logistics solutions for complex manufacturing operationsProficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software for facility and warehouse layout designStrong experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for advanced data analysis and process optimizationExperience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and material handling systems including AGVs, conveyors, forklifts, and warehouse automationDesired:Master's degree or MBAExperience with Yard Management Systems (YMS)Experience using simulation software such as FlexSim or AnyLogicExperience with Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization toolsKnowledge of AI-enabled supply chain optimization and predictive logistics technologiesExperience supporting electric vehicle, automotive, or other high-volume manufacturing operationsFamiliarity with designing logistics solutions that align with manufacturing engineering and production requirementsBlue Chip Talent is an award-winning and woman-owned talent solutions provider based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
