Junior Data Governance Analyst ContractFully Remote**Must be a US Citizen**As a Junior Data Governance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and governance of data within our consulting partner’s project supporting a major federal government agency. As a Data Governance Analyst – you will be focused on contributing to data governance initiatives and support the organization's data management objectives by supporting the implementation of data governance strategies, policies, and procedures.Education and Background:Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.1-3 years of proven experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.Foundational Knowledge:A strong understanding of data governance principles, including data stewardship, data ownership, and data policies.Familiarity with data management best practices, including data quality management, data lineage, and metadata management.Proficiency with data governance tools and technologies, such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, and InformaticaAbility to gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into clear technical specifications for product teams.Experience working in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to iteratively develop and deliver data products.While not required, having a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification is advantageous.ResponsibilitiesStay informed about industry trends in data governance and data management practices to support organizational efforts.Awareness of data privacy regulations, compliance standards, and data security requirements. Ensure data governance practices align with legal and regulatory guidelines.Identify data quality issues, analyzing data governance metrics, and contributing to data governance improvement initiatives.Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, data owners, and data stewards to drive successful data governance projects and initiatives.
