Job Description Field InspectorWashington Metropolitan Area (DC, MD, VA)Open Source Engineering, LLC (OSE) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Inspector to join our growing engineering and consulting team. OSE specializes in the investigation, evaluation, and rehabilitation of existing buildings, including structural and building enclosure systems.The ideal candidate will assist with field investigations, construction observations, documentation, and coordination on a variety of commercial, residential, and community association projects throughout the Washington Metropolitan area.ResponsibilitiesPerform field inspections and construction observations at active project sitesDocument existing conditions using notes, photographs, and field reportsAssist engineers and project managers with investigations and evaluationsRead and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specificationsMonitor construction activities for general conformance with contract documentsCoordinate with contractors, property managers, and clients in the fieldPrepare written reports and communicate findings clearlyTravel to various project sites throughout DC, Maryland, and VirginiaQualificationsAssociate degree in Construction Management or related field preferredAbility to read and interpret construction plans and drawingsStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishSpanish speaking is a plusBasic understanding of construction practices and building systemsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and outdoors in varying site conditionsProficient with Microsoft Office and mobile technology for field documentationRequirementsReliable transportation and valid driver's licenseAbility to travel regularly to project sitesAbility to climb stairs, ladders, and walk active construction sites safelyAbility to carry field equipment and perform site observationsPreferred ExperienceExperience in construction inspection, building restoration, or property condition assessmentsFamiliarity with structural, roofing, façade, balcony, waterproofing, or building enclosure systemsOSHA 10 certification is a plusAutoCAD skill is a plusCompany DescriptionOpen Source Engineering (OSE) provides professional engineering and consulting services focused on existing building investigation, rehabilitation, and construction administration.
