In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve; we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.Job Description:Assist patients with activities of daily living (bath, feed, play, etc) and provide other patient care as directedPrepare rooms for patient admissions assuring that the room is clean and proper equipment is set up for patient's needsParticipate in comfort rounds, if applicablePerform vital signs and reports abnormalities to assigned RNRecord intake and output of patients as directed by RNEnsure an adequate stock of all necessary equipment and supplies in designated areas at established par levelsMaintain sterile technique during formula preparation and follows the standards of formula preparation as described in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics "Guidelines for Preparations of Human Milk and Formula in Health Care Facilities"Ensure a clean and safe patient care environmentUtilize the electronic medical record as required to document the patient care providedTransport patients to other unit locations and escorts discharged patients to carServe as receptionist for unit by promptly answering telephone/call light console, greeting patients/families/visitors, updating and monitoring the child abduction system and managing other software systemsParticipate in unit, departmental and hospital education programsAdhere to the Nemours Standards of BehaviorDeliver reports, supplies, etc.., to other patient unit locations as neededEffectively communicate about patient needs with other departments as delegated by the Registered NurseParticipate in departmental and hospital programs for quality assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of The Nemours FoundationAttend unit/department meetings regularlyAccept feedback and takes direction from responsible RN and adjusts care accordinglySupport family centered care in all patient care interactionsExemplify the professional image of the patient care services department by meeting all standards of dress code, wearing easily visible identification badge and appropriately utilizing all personal protective equipmentSuccessfully complete annual hospital wide and unit-based skills requirementsJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the State of Florida or successful completion of one full semester clinical rotations in an accredited School of NursingMinimum of one year of patient care experience preferredAmerican Heart Basic Life Support upon hire
