Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS; CCRN preferred Must-Have: Cardiac critical care experience Ability to care for post open-heart patients minimum of 1 to 2 days post-op Experience with Impella heart pump and CRRT is a plus Description: The ICU unit has a total of 12 beds. Patient ratios are standard ICU 1 RN: 2 patients, unless there is higher or lower acuity. Unit staff includes 1 day shift secretary and primary RN staffing. Standard critical care equipment is available, including Impella and Hemosphere advanced monitoring platform. The documentation system in use is Meditech. Scheduling is participative. Management reserves the right to move staff to fill scheduling gaps. A minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month is required, and block scheduling is not guaranteed. Floating to other units may be required as needed. Nurses will explain care and medications, treat patients with courtesy and respect, and answer call lights promptly. Nurses must hold current ACLS and BLS certifications, with CCRN preferred. The required uniform is navy scrubs. Critical care staff respond to rapid response situations and code blue events. Traveling staff may be subject to float policies.
