Low Voltage / DAS Installation Technician
Job Overview
We are seeking an
experienced Low Voltage / DAS Installation Technician to support large-scale
inbuilding wireless and low voltage infrastructure projects. This role focuses
on the installation, maintenance, and support of distributed antenna systems (DAS)
and related low voltage systems across a variety of environments.
Scope of Work
Install and maintain inbuilding wireless systems, including DAS, IDAS/ODAS, public safety systems, fiber, and coax
Support both new construction and existing facilities, including campuses and multibuilding environments
Perform low voltage installation tasks such as rack and stack, dressing and labeling, and system cleanup
Work with coaxial and fiberbased DAS systems
Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and system verification
Interpret blueprints and construction drawings to lead and support job execution
Capture job photos, complete documentation, and report progress to project leadership
Technical Experience
Hands-on experience with DAS, low voltage, voice, and data systems
Proficiency installing and terminating low voltage coax (including 1/2" coax)
Experience with fiber pulling and basic testing; terminating and splicing experience is a plus
Familiarity with common DAS and wireless equipment manufacturers and testing tools
Understanding of industry best practices for structured cabling and wireless infrastructure
Team & Leadership
Work in small teams, typically serving as a lead technician with a helper
Provide light job leadership including task delegation and onsite coordination
Ensure quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met
Travel Requirements
Must be open to regional and occasional outofstate travel (up to approximately 50% in peak periods)
Overnight travel may be required during certain project phases
Company vehicle provided for travel
Lodging and daily per diem provided when traveling overnight
Schedule & Employment Details
Fulltime schedule, typically 40 hours per week
Overtime opportunities may be available
Longterm opportunity with potential for fulltime conversion after an initial contract period
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in wireless DAS OR low voltage installation
Strong understanding of coax and fiberbased systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable working in commercial, institutional, and campusstyle environments
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Timonium, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
