The ideal candidate has experience handling accounting for multiple clients. This is an interesting role that will offer you exposure to a wide range of industries.Job Summary:The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of accounting services to clients, ensuring the accurate preparation of financial statements, managing accounting functions, and offering strategic financial advice. This role involves leading and mentoring a team of accountants while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring the smooth operation of accounting services. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and be able to communicate effectively with clients to help them optimize their financial operations.Key Responsibilities:Client Management:Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and addressing any client inquiries or concerns.Develop an in-depth understanding of client business operations and provide strategic financial guidance.Assist clients with optimizing their accounting processes and systems.Financial Reporting & Accounting Services:Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other applicable standards.Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.Review journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.Provide clients with financial analysis and performance insights to support business decisions.Team Leadership and Supervision:Manage a team of staff accountants and senior accountants, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.Conduct performance reviews, set clear goals, and monitor progress.Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the timely completion of all accounting services.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and the implementation of best practices in accounting operations.Ensure efficient workflow for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.Recommend tools, software, or procedures to streamline accounting processes and improve productivity.Client Communication & Reporting:Regularly communicate with clients to discuss financial status, report results, and advise on strategic financial decisions.Prepare management reports and present financial results to clients, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.Address client questions related to their financial records and offer solutions to any accounting challenges.Compliance & Internal Controls:Ensure that clients comply with relevant financial regulations and internal controls.Conduct periodic reviews of clients' accounting systems and processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license preferred but not required.Experience:5+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on accounting services (bookkeeping, financial reporting, etc.).Experience managing teams and overseeing accounting operations for clients.Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.Skills:Deep understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles.Strong leadership and management skills to guide and mentor staff.Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.Work Environment:Primarily an office-based role with occasional client meetings or site visits as needed.The position may offer flexibility in terms of remote work or hybrid arrangements depending on firm policies.This job description should not be considered all-inclusive. All employees may be assigned additional tasks to meet the needs of the firm or our clients.Interested candidates send your resume to info@mjlambertcpa.net
