About the Toyota Emerging Talent Program (TETP):
The Toyota Emerging Talent Program (TETP) is a company-wide and department lead three year rotational program for motivated Associates, designed to provide hands-on learning and diverse experiences within Toyota Material Handling’s and Toyota Industries Commercial Finance’s business units. We’re looking for:

The TETP – Engineering Track is designed to equip participants with a broad overview of the Product Development Process at Toyota with experiences individually curated focusing on the development of material handling equipment, energy storage ecosystems, digital solutions and more. The program includes rotations lasting from six months to one year, each helping speed the growth of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to become successful Associates and future leader at Toyota.
TMH Engineers are a customer centric team focused on delivering products that help our customers carry the load. In this role, you will learn about the processes used to capture the needs of our customers. Additionally, you will discover how we develop a robust, cost efficient and dependable product and how we ensure the quality of product represents the Toyota name. You will also experience a macro view of the Toyota Development Way of Working and how this integrates into the Toyota Production System, a proven system of standardization and continuous improvement.
We are a passionate team of highly skilled engineers who focus on all aspects of technology. From computer vision and machine learning to electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems, to solution level ecosystems.
Essential Position Duties:
We intend to develop a program focused on your growth. Since our engineers solve so many different types of challenges, we do not have a one-size fits all approach. However, you will be tasked with assignments focused on supporting one or more of the following development platforms:
Truck Development – We develop electric vehicles capable of lifting loads very high with a weight up to 8 tons. The engineering required to achieve this type of objective is significant and covers just about all aspects of engineering (electrical, mechanical, software/firmware, CAE, Machine Learning/Computer Vision).
Digitalization – We strive to provide insights to our customers that allow them to operate their organizations better. Our solutions incorporate some of today’s most cutting edge technologies. Our engineers develop telematics systems and strategies, focus on automation solutions and operator-assisted features. Engineers with a background in Machine Learning, Embedded Firmware development and Electrical Engineering are best suited for this path.

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
BS/MS/PhD in an applicable engineering field and/or computer science.
Minimum GPA of 3.3
Ideal candidates will have five years or less of post collegiate work experience and possess the following experience and skills:
Driven to creatively solve customer
Must be able and willing to work, think and debate ideas as a team
Need to be comfortable working on and researching an engineering challenge independently
Must be passionate about continuously improving yourself, our products and our culture
Need to a have a good, solid engineering base to build off as we look to grow you into our way of working
Hands on problem solving experience
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas
