DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Welder Instructor is responsible for imparting industry-specific welding knowledge and technical skills to employees, driving both individual and organizational development. This role encompasses the design and delivery of effective, hands-on training programs, facilitation of instructional workshops, evaluation of trainee performance, and continuous refinement of course content to ensure optimal learning outcomes and adherence to industry welding standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop structured welding training programs tailored to the needs of new hires and current employeesConduct hands-on training sessions and workshops covering welding techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocolsEvaluate the effectiveness of training programs and modify curriculum and delivery methods as needed to improve outcomesCollaborate with department managers to identify skill gaps and training needs, and develop targeted solutionsStay current on industry trends, welding codes, and best practices in employee training and developmentProvide ongoing feedback and coaching to employees to support their technical growth and career developmentManage training materials and resources, including training manuals, presentations, and audiovisual/welding equipmentTrack and report on employee training progress and completion to managementQualificationsMinimum of a Bachelor's degree, or relevant welding certification combined with equivalent industry experienceProven experience as a welding instructor, trainer, or in a similar instructional roleDemonstrated proficiency in relevant welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and interpretation of welding codes and standardsExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to learners at all skill levelsStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to assess and measure the effectiveness of training programs and adjust accordinglyAvailability to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM– 3:00 PM, with occasional weekend availability as needed
