Founded in 1907, we’ve grown into one of the region’s largest electrical contracting firms and have been consistently named one of the Fastest Growing Companies by the Pittsburgh Business Times.We are looking to hire a Construction Management Intern based in our Lewiston, ME office.Role SummaryThe Construction Management Intern works directly under the supervision of Senior Project Managers and Superintendents to gain hands-on experience in the planning, budgeting, and execution of construction projects. The role also assists in daily field operations and administrative tasks, and will gain a comprehensive view of the construction lifecycle from pre-construction to project closeout.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Documentation: Assist in the preparation and management of RFI (Request for Information) logs, submittals, and change ordersSite Supervision: Accompany the Superintendent on site walkthroughs to monitor progress, quality control, and safety complianceScheduling: Help update the master construction schedule using project management software and track milestone completionVendor Coordination: Communicate with subcontractors and material suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipmentMeeting Support: Attend weekly owner/contractor (OC) meetings, take detailed minutes, and distribute action items to the teamCost Control: Assist in reviewing invoices, verifying quantities of work in place, and tracking project costs against the budgetSafety Compliance: Participate in safety orientations and help conduct site safety audits to maintain a hazard-free work environmentRequired QualificationsEducation: In process of bachelors in construction management, Engineering, Business, or equivalentTechnical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Blueprint Reading: Basic ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and blueprintsCommunication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentDriver's License: Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to visit various job sitesPreferred QualificationsSoftware Experience: Familiarity with construction management software such as Trimble Projectsight, Bluebeam Revu, Excel, or Microsoft ProjectCertifications: OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety CertificationPrevious Experience: Prior internship or field experience in the construction industryEstimating Skills: Exposure to cost estimating or quantity take-offsSargent Electric Company Equal Employment Opportunity StatementSargent Electric Company and all its affiliate companies are committed to providing equal employment opportunities in all aspects of employment to qualified individuals without regard to the following criteria: race, color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, mental or physical disability, age, familial or marital status, ancestry, military status, veteran status or genetic information as well as any other prohibited criteria under any local, state or federal law applicable to Sargent Electric Company.Powered by JazzHROutWKEPJo8
