Construction Superintendent
The Greenway USA team is looking for a Construction Superintendent with 5-10 years of experience to oversee multiple projects for immediate needs in Maine. Experience and desire to travel as required to cover projects throughout New England.
Successful candidate will report directly to our New York Based Project Manager located in NY, NY. You will organize and oversee our construction field operations, work with trade personnel and subcontractors and manage projects onsite by following procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
An excellent Construction Superintendent must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of subcontractors and other professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. Experienced in "ground-up" building is a must. Construction SME highly desired. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills and be a team player. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with owners, engineers, architects etc. in the planning and executing of the project(s)
Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
Monitor other staff and allocate responsibilities as required
Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed
Develop master project schedules, evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
Support Greenway USA Business Development efforts
Skills
Proven experience working and performing on construction projects
In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
Good knowledge of MS Office
Familiarity with construction/ project management software (i.e. PROCORE)
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
A team player with leadership abilities
BS/BA in business, engineering, Construction Management, building science or relevant field is preferred
