With that in mind, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply.Job DescriptionThe Program Manager provides ownership and accountability for missionary programs, which may consist of products, processes, and projects. They work under the direction of the managing director or a director and regularly receive direction from those sources and/or General Authorities. The Program Manager ensures that directed outcomes are accomplished, and that missionary needs are strategically anticipated and approached. The Program Manager translates direction into vision and strategy and oversees the products and project management effort. Working with product managers, key stakeholders, personnel, and other resources, this position ensures that solutions meet quality expectations in terms of functionality, timeline, cost, and performance. He/she coordinates the activities of inter-departmental teams to successfully complete the development of extremely complex business solutions. This is a senior level role.This position is an at-will role and is initially a fixed-term appointment for up to two years, with the possibility of extension up to five years and potential consideration for a permanent role based on organizational need and performance.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the success of programs with moderate to high levels of complexity and will normally oversee the efforts of teams of Product/Project Managers.Maintain relationships and favorable contacts with customers including Product Managers, Directors, Managing Directors, Church Officers, and General Authorities, and possibly Mission Leaders.Program Manager Responsibilities IncludeVision and strategyReceives direction from Church and department leaders for assignment in the program. May make executive presentations, including proposals, to obtain or clarify direction.Translates direction into vision and strategy. Determines priorities and communicates vision, strategy, and solutions to work partners.RoadmapLead business planning, roadmap, and efforts to develop solutions. Approve projects based on the business case, budget and resource availability, and alignment with program and product plan.Work with product managers to establish project prioritization within the program/product plan. Lead iteration and release planning.Drive and own the requirements of the project from inception to delivery. Defines and validates project/program scope and statements of work. Defines and tasks and priorities within a program. Working with functional managers, identifies project managers and engineering team members.Manage development of required documentation.CoordinationWork with functional managers across the department to assemble project teams and streamline a coordinated effort free of duplication. Drive development processes to complete solutions according to commitments and approved standards.Lead project reviews to assess schedule, solution architecture and process adherence. Provide continuous assessment of project risks and mitigation approaches.Resolve customer issues/problems, sit in on customer product planning and leadership meetings.Evaluate, report, and improveEnsure the projects and products delivered to clients meet their strategic and project plans.Determines data and metrics for reporting. Reviews data regularly and determines improvements.Communicate status of program and deliverable project(s) to department and Church leaders. Makes recommendations and seeks further direction.May directly manage other employees and/or missionaries in accomplishing these responsibilitiesQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in business management or related field.7 years Program and/or Project Management experience. Possess superior analytical and problem-solving skills, and are required to expediently gather and analyze data, presenting it to all levels of the organization, while making recommendations to improve the business.Strong relationship-building skills are imperative, and an ability to effectively work with all areas of the organization.Ability to think critically and decompose complex problems into coherent technology strategy and solutions.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Must have project planning, organizing, communicating, team motivating and delegating skills.To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.PreferredMaster's degreePMP certificationAbout UsChurch employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord’s work.
