Tonal is looking for a passionate Senior Android Developer to work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams. This individual will play a critical role in building the embedded application that powers the world's most intelligent personal trainer. You will be given the opportunity to solve complex challenges in the creation of software for unique consumer and enterprise fitness products. Tonal is the place for you.The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.What You Will DoDesign, develop and maintain robust, complex features powered by intelligence, personalization, and computer vision for the Tonal Smart Home GymCollaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions of product deliverablesWork on cross-platform engineering challenges to elevate the user journey and create seamless, engaging experiencesIdentify opportunities for improvement in architecture, code coverage, tooling, processes, and propose creative solutionsCoordinate with onshore/offshore teams to streamline the development/testing activitiesHelp build a quality-driven engineering culture that values innovation, continuous improvement, and team workTroubleshoot/triage customer issues and perform root cause analysis to identify improvement opportunitiesWho You Are5+ years of software development experienceProficient in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose with backend services integrationSolid understanding of Android design principles, architecture patterns, and engineering best practicesWorking knowledge of data analytics and logging tools such as Sentry, Amplitude, or OpenSearchFamiliar with source control management, CI/CD workflow, and build/release processesHigh attention to detail, both in code and UI/UX with a creative approach to problem-solvingAbility to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience in hardware-software integration, computer visions and AI-based applicationsFamiliarity with Apple Health and/or Google Health Connect platformsPassion for fitness, wellness, or health-tech industriesAt Tonal, we believe that the unique and varied lived experiences of our teammates contribute to our overall strength.
