Junior Systems Engineer Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 3x per week onsite in Ally Charlotte Center) Hybrid role $32 per hour ABOUT THE ROLE Our client is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support the lifecycle management of enterprise data and voice circuits in a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with 0-1 year of experience in IT, network operations, telecommunications, or infrastructure support (including internships, co-ops, or relevant academic projects). The Junior Systems Engineer will assist with ordering, tracking, documentation, billing review, and communication across internal teams and external vendors, working closely under the guidance of senior engineers and team leads. The role offers an excellent opportunity to learn telecommunications operations, vendor coordination, and enterprise infrastructure processes. Occasional after-hours support may be required for scheduled activations or disconnects. Work Authorization: We are unable to provide sponsorship currently. WHAT YOU'LL DOAssist with the lifecycle support of data and voice circuits, including order intake, vendor coordination, delivery tracking, activations, service changes, and disconnect requestsWork with circuit vendors and carriers to gather updates, follow up on milestones, and escalate issues to senior team members as neededSupport internal ordering and procurement processes, including submitting purchase requests and helping track approvals and documentationMaintain accurate circuit and inventory records in approved systems and tools, ensuring data integrity and timely updatesHelp review billing and invoice information to identify potential discrepancies, post-disconnect charges, or missing updates, escalating findings for resolutionPartner with engineering, field operations, and site contacts to support circuit turn-ups, testing activities, and service readinessCreate and update tickets or tasks in tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms to track work and progressProvide basic status updates and documentation to stakeholders with guidance from senior engineers WHAT YOU BRING0-1 years of experience in IT, network operations, telecommunications, or infrastructure support (including internships, co-ops, or relevant academic projects)Basic understanding of data and voice connectivity concepts (e.g., WAN, DIA, MPLS, carrier-delivered services); training providedFamiliarity with ticketing or workflow tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar (academic or internship experience acceptable)Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to follow documented processes and instructionsEffective written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to ask questions and learn from othersProficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard productivity toolsAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentOccasional after-hours support may be required for scheduled activations or disconnectsNice to have: Internship or academic exposure to telecommunications, networking, or IT operationsFamiliarity with circuit vendors or carriers (e.g., AT&T, Lumen, Granite, Bandwidth)Experience with inventory tracking, documentation, or operational reportingExposure to SharePoint, Confluence, or similar documentation tools WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOUOpportunity to learn and grow within telecommunications operations and enterprise infrastructure environmentsCollaborative team environment with guidance from experienced engineersHybrid work schedule with onsite collaborationCompetitive hourly compensationEqual employment opportunity employer #LI-RH1
