Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion. Employs independent judgment in the delivery of care. Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to achieve desired outcomes. Implements care plans and coordinates care delivery effectively. Employs strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward achieving outcomes. Identifies desired outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation. Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in delivering care in a safe and humane environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment teams. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
