Description:Waste Treatment TechnicianPay Rate #####Primary Functions:• Must hold Class 3 industrial wastewater operator certificate• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the wastewater treatment facility and its processes.• Add and maintain chemical addition systems and adjust as necessary to maintain wastewater system operation within specified parameters• Maintain effluent to meet regulatory permit requirements, perform maintenance, maintain supply and part inventory, perform some chemical analysis• Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing required to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process and land application management.• Handle, accumulate and coordinate sludge and hazardous waste material storage and disposal according with federal, state, and local regulations• Advise of the status of wastewater treatment equipment and systems• Maintain equipment and area cleanliness to ensure compliance with all GMP• Tend to and operate a variety of machines and equipment necessary for the job, including driving a forklift• Learn and monitor all OSHA and EPA requirements, which apply to these process areas to achieve 100% compliance and perform related duties• Perform daily inspections of the wastewater treatment process and periodic inspections of wastewater operations• Perform monthly inspection of the hazardous waste storage area and satellite accumulation areas• Collects hazardous waste across campus• May be requested to work overtime and weekends• Perform all work according to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulationsBasic Qualifications:• 5 years' experience as a Waste Treatment Operator• High school diploma or GEDPosition Criteria:• Basic knowledge of federal and state rules governing wastewater discharges and industrial safety.• Basic knowledge and experience in operating a wastewater treatment facility.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.• Basic algebra skillsPreferred Qualifications:• RCRA and HazMat DOT training• Basic knowledge and experience in a laboratory testing environment.• Completed course in electroplating and surface finishing technology from The American Electroplaters SocietyAdditional DetailsPersonal Protection Equipment Description : In the field below, please list all safety items or equipment the worker will need which is not provided by Eaton (i.e. steel toe shoes, respirator fit requirements, respirator, ...)Personal Protection Equipment Required (PPE) : Yes EnteredNameComment04/28/2023 04:26 PM*Lynch, Karen ************* certs in the description are required.
