Maintenance Technician

Job DescriptionJoin our client's team as a Maintenance Technician in Oneida County, NY, supporting a food manufacturing plant. This multi-craft role covers mechanical, electrical, controls, and facilities maintenance to keep production, packaging, and utility systems running safely and efficiently. We are looking to hire 5 people in 2nd and 3rd shifts.What you'll do:Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment including packaging, metal detection, case packing, and palletizingCalibrate and document sensors and instrumentation critical to food safety complianceOperate and maintain ammonia refrigeration and glycol cooling systemsPerform preventive and corrective maintenanceEnsure safety by following all company policies, including safety rules, procedures, Lock-out / Tag-out procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), personal safety standards, food safety standards as well as OSHA standardsParticipates in Continuous Improvement, also provides suggestions to improve processes, and participates in team projectsSupport facility maintenance including safe operation and maintenance of steam boilers, water chillers, cooling towers, well pumps, HVAC, and various other plant utility equipmentWhat we're looking for:Industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food/beverage or sanitary environments, Class A MechanicStrong skills with PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, 480 VAC power, pneumatics, hydraulics, and schematic readingWork environment includes onsite conditions with temperature variations, noise, chemicals, and pressurized systems.Strong mechanical background in maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing bearings, seals, and gaskets.Strong mechanical background in a production setting; troubleshooting and repairing gearboxes, sprocket/chains, belts, clutches, bearings, and brakes.Strong plus if trained and experienced in compressed air systems, basic plumbing/piping, Boilers, and Hydraulics.Why consider this opportunity?You'll play a key role in maintaining critical food manufacturing operations with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
