Job title : Cost analystLocation: Tampa, FL (Hybrid)Duration : 18 months (possible extension)Pay rate range : $42- $48/hr. on W2Position SummaryThis Analyst will support the Accounting Supervisor in managing day-to-day accounting and operational finance activities across multiple business units. This role is designed to provide critical support during a period of resource reallocation tied to a large-scale SAP transformation initiative.The position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of operating effectively across both accounting and operational functions, with an emphasis on data analysis, process validation, and cross-functional collaboration.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Finance & AnalysisAnalyze operational costs, key performance indicators (KPIs), and business performance metricsReview production and operational data to identify discrepancies, errors, and inefficienciesMonitor intercompany and intracompany transactions, including shipment cost accuracyEvaluate spending patterns and investigate variances for reasonablenessPartner with operations and plant personnel to resolve data and process-related issuesAccounting & Close ActivitiesSupport monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare and distribute recurring financial and operational reports using Power BIAssist with invoice processing, tracking of payments, and accrual-related activitiesPerform account reconciliations, including GR/IR analysis and resolution of aged itemsMaintain supporting documentation in accordance with internal control requirementsCosting & Inventory OversightSupport corporate costing processes, including cost center setup and maintenanceReview inventory transactions and adjustments to ensure accuracy and completenessMonitor inventory in transit and aging balancesEvaluate product costing inputs, standards, and purchase order variancesAssist in maintaining effective internal controls over inventory and costing processesOngoing DeliverablesExecute recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly processes, including:Production and inventory validation checksCost center and spend analysis (Plan vs. Actual)Sales price and purchase order reviewsMonth-end reporting and reconciliationsSupport for compliance and internal control testing (e.g., CSA)Systems & ToolsSAP (required)Power BI (Preferred, not mandatoryMicrosoft Excel (advanced proficiency required)QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or operational analysisExperience working within an ERP environment (SAP strongly preferred)Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial and operational dataCore CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentEffective communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to work both independently and collaborativelyAdditional AttributesSelf-motivated with a proactive, results-oriented approachComfortable working in a hands-on, onsite environmentAbility to effectively interact with cross-functional stakeholders, including operations and plant teamsInterest in developing expertise in both accounting and operational financeDexian is a leading provider of staffing, IT, and workforce solutions with over 12,000 employees and 70 locations worldwide.
