Senior Human Resources Manager (Dayton)
JOB SUMMARYThe Sr. Human Resources Manager partners with the Vice President, Human Resources, to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for our client's human resources services, policies, and programs. This position guides decision making processes and positively impacts the results of the organization by recruiting, retaining, developing, and rewarding talented employees. This position completes multiple and/or large projects to lead the development, enhancement, and innovation of the Human Resources Department. The Senior Human Resources Manager has project management and performance management responsibilities for their group.WHAT YOU'LL DO:Partners with Directors of Manufacturing and Plant Managers to provide HR oversight for multiple locations across manufacturing facilitiesManages complex responsibility for specific areas including but not limited to labor negotiations/contract administration, areas outside of HR, etc.Works with the VP, Human Resources, and respective client groups to design organization structure, business process and systemsWorks to create a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing developmentGuides managers in areas such as benefits, compensation, training, recruiting, workforce planning, conflict management, performance management, etc.Ensures that all policies and procedures are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulationsResponsible for operational HR issues including job description development, hiring, retention, succession planning, legal compliance, termination reviews, transfers, and communicationsImplements short and long terms plans to ensure performance and innovation within the HR departmentMonitors key metrics (i.e., turnover, attendance, etc.) to assist the location and/or functional area(s) in effectively managing their workforce to maximize productivity and overall effectivenessDemonstrates solid business acumen and ability to make HR decisions that ensure a positive impact on the bottom lineFosters teamwork at all levels and cross-functionallyActs as a catalyst for change with the ability to positively influence others to make difficult decisionsPresentations with the highest levels within the organizationPerforms other projects as required by the business, functional unit and/or HR organizationWHO YOU ARE:Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business, or related field.5+ years of human resources experience in a manufacturing environment; union experience helpfulExperience with ADP (WorkForce Now) and Enhanced E-time - preferredPrevious payroll/benefits experience helpful.Strong verbal and written communication skillsDevelop relationships with business partnersInnovative mindset identifying new ways to solve work problems resulting in unique/differentiated solutions.Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and strong project/time management skillsAttention to detail and highly organized with a sense of urgencyUnderstand the business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspectiveEffectively interface with all levels and types of internal and external employees and business associatesDevelop and present information formally and informallySolid analytical and critical thinking skills; good organizational skills.Training and mentoring managers and individual contributorsSome travel required
