GLOBAL CONSUMER PRODUCTS COMPANYLocation: New York, NYGlobal consumer products and lifestyle company with a portfolio of internationally recognized brands across beauty, personal care, and consumer goods categories.Job Title: Senior Director – Technical Accounting & SEC ReportingPosition SummaryA global public company is seeking a Senior Director – Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting to lead complex accounting analysis, policy development, valuation oversight, and financial reporting initiatives across the organization.This highly visible leadership role serves as a key advisor to executive leadership and partners closely with finance, legal, treasury, tax, investor relations, and M&A teams on strategic transactions and accounting matters. The position also oversees a technical accounting team supporting public company reporting and policy governance.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Accounting & Policy LeadershipLead analysis and implementation of new U.S. GAAP accounting standardsPrepare accounting policies, technical accounting memos, and guidance documentationProvide accounting support for:Complex transactionsLicensing arrangementsEquity compensation structuresM&A activityTreasury and tax initiativesSEC Reporting & Financial StatementsOversee review of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and disclosuresSupport preparation of audit committee and executive-level financial presentationsEnsure compliance with SEC and SOX reporting requirementsValuation & Impairment OversightLead annual and quarterly impairment review processesCoordinate with FP&A and valuation specialists on forecasting assumptions and valuation analysesReview external valuation work and support audit processes related to impairment testingCross-Functional AdvisoryServe as the primary technical accounting advisor across:FinanceLegalInvestor RelationsTaxTreasuryM&AProvide timely accounting guidance during active transactions and strategic initiativesLeadership & Process ImprovementLead and develop a high-performing technical accounting teamMaintain and update corporate accounting policies and finance manualsDrive process improvements and strengthen internal controls related to financial reportingQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA strongly preferred10+ years of experience in:Technical accountingSEC reportingPublic company accountingBig 4 accounting/advisoryDeep expertise in:U.S. GAAPSEC reporting requirementsComplex accounting and valuation topicsExperience supporting:Audit committeesExternal auditorsSenior executive leadershipStrong experience with:M&A accountingEquity compensationImpairment testingAccounting policy developmentProven leadership and team management experienceStrong communication and stakeholder management skills
