What You'll Do:Provides patient care as directedDocuments patient-related care timely within the electronic health recordMaintain patient medical recordsAdministers medication, including oral and intramuscular medications, may administer intravenous therapy if appropriately certifiedPerforms treatmentsAssists with Doctor's Sick CallAssists with chronic care clinics managementParticipates in patient care planning and treatment team activitiesResponds to emergenciesProvides emergency care and collection of patient dataCollects vital signs and timely documents all findingsCollects urine and/or other body fluid specimensMay perform venipuncture in order to obtain blood samples for laboratory analysisPrepares patients for release and/or transfer (i.e., Intra-system, out to court) by reviewing patient care, completing Intra-System Transfer Summaries and/or Release SummariesEnsures discharge medication orders are completed and timely forwarded to pharmacy servicesParticipates in work-related training and all institution training exercises as assigned.Provides assistance to other healthcare staffInvestigates and documents problem areas and/or areas of concernReviews shift report from preceding shift(s)Assist physicians with medical proceduresAssumes duties of other nurses during absencesObserves, documents and provides nursing support to assistive personnel (i.e., nurse aides, psychiatric attendants, and/or patient care assistants)Provides patient education regarding healthcare maintenance and prevention of diseaseParticipates in continuous quality improvement activities.Performs administrative dutiesAttends meetingsSchedules multidisciplinary team meetingsPerforms and/or assists with inventory and ordering of medical suppliesAssists ancillary staff including Health Information Technicians and medical schedulers as needed to ensure patient care needs are metMust work overtime as requiredStarting pay is approximately $58,000 based on shift assignments.Ohio has joined the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), which went into effect January 1, 2023. The NLC allows an LPN to hold one multistate license (MSL) in their primary state of residence while practicing virtually or over state lines in 37 other compact states across the country.License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code; MDS certification issued by ANNAC (i.e. American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination).Job Skills: Nursing, Basic Medical Procedures, Direct Support/Direct Care, Medical Charting, Medication Management, Cultural Awareness, Problem Solving, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Confidentiality
