Traveling Service Tech

Deister Machine Co, a manufacturing and worldwide distributor of screens and feeders for the mining, quarry and construction industry is seeking Service Technicians. This position offers the opportunity to travel nationwide to perform field repairs and maintenance, as well as trouble shooting problems, on screens and feeders, by performing the following duties. Visit Deister's website to apply. https://www.deistermachine.com/jobopportunities/ Responsibilities Perform most functions of a Welder/Assembler while in the field Drives or flies to various customer locations throughout the country Gathers parts and tools, and double check, before loading and/or leaving for service jobs Observes screen/feeder in operation, paying attention to audible indications of issues Dismantles mechanisms, or applicable component, to gain access to and remove defective parts Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Sets up and operates magnetic drill, grinder, and other metalworking tools to install and/or remove or modify repair parts Starts, or requests start of screens/feeders to test their performance after repairs are complete Completes service and expense reports in a timely fashion Returns tools and trucks in a clean, safe condition Will perform normal shop duties when not in field Available for short notice service trips Requirements Must be able to read a tape measure and prints Must have weld experience Must be proactive and a self-starter Must have good attendance Must work well with others Must be able to problem solve & trouble shoot in real time Deister offers a competitive wags and a benefits package that includes paid vacation, vision, dental, medical and employer contributions to 401k.
