Terms of Employment• W2 Contract, 24 Months• This is a hybrid schedule with Tues, Wed and Thurs onsite at Oakbrook Terrace, ILOverviewOur client is seeking a Senior Real Estate Representative to serve as the primary liaison between railroad companies, internal project managers, engineers, consultants, and external stakeholders. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing permit requests, ensuring documentation completeness, coordinating right-of-entry requests, and facilitating necessary approvals for utility construction projects on railroad property. The ideal candidate will manage multiple permit requests simultaneously, maintain project trackers, and foster strong working relationships to drive utility and customer-driven projects forward.The contractor will be responsible for reviewing permit requests, ensuring completeness, working through railroad requirements, coordinating right-of-entry requests, and helping facilitate approvals for utility construction projects on railroad property. Knowledge of permitting processes, utility operations, engineering projects, or real estate rights is highly valuable and will significantly reduce the learning curve. The contractor will serve as the primary liaison between railroad companies, internal project managers, engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders. They must be able to manage multiple permit requests simultaneously, follow up consistently, communicate status updates, and maintain strong working relationships with railroad contacts. Railroad permits often remain active for several months, requiring accurate tracking, reporting, documentation, and status management throughout the lifecycle of a project. The Railroad permitting process relies heavily on data entry, permit status tracking, and reporting.Responsibilities• Review permit requests to ensure completeness and identify any missing requirements or documentation.• Work through railroad requirements, coordinate right-of-entry requests, and help facilitate approvals, licenses, and permits for utility construction projects.• Serve as the primary liaison between railroad contacts, internal project managers, engineers, consultants, and other key stakeholders.• Manage multiple permit requests and projects simultaneously through their full lifecycle, following up consistently to drive approvals.• Maintain accurate project trackers, databases, and status reports to monitor long-term active permits.• Communicate regular status updates to project teams and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with external partners.Required Skills & Experience• Bachelor's degree or significant related professional work experience.• 1 to 5 years of experience in real estate, permitting, utility, or project coordination roles.• Strong understanding of property rights processes and real estate/permitting workflows.• Technical proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience operating in database-driven work environments.• Experience maintaining project trackers, documentation, and status reports.• Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Strong follow-up, organizational skills, high attention to detail, and data accuracy.• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously• Experience within the railroad industry or utility industry operations.• Familiarity with engineering projects, utility construction, or rights-of-entry procedures• Hands-on experience with workflow systems such as UPPM, PERMS, SharePoint, or similar platforms.________________________________________nTech is an equal opportunity employer.
