Transmission Planning Engineer

AVA Energy are partnered with an established IPP as they grow out their Transmission & Interconnection team. This role will be full-time and hybrid onsite in the Dallas area.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related) with 1–6 years of experience in transmission planning, interconnection, or power system studies supporting generation or large-load projects.Working knowledge of bulk electric system power-flow modeling and interconnection study processes, including experience with tools such as PSSE, PowerWorld, TARA, or similar platforms.Hands-on experience preparing generator interconnection requests, managing ISO/RTO study timelines, and evaluating study methodologies, tariffs, and procedural requirements. Ability to develop conceptual electrical designs (substations, switchyards, one-lines) and assess system impacts, upgrade needs, and siting options based on grid topology and modeling results.Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and produce clear technical summaries, presentations, and data-driven recommendations.Please apply for more information!
