Turbomachinery Design Engineer

TURBOMACHINERY DESIGN ENGINEERROLE OVERVIEWWe are seeking a Turbomachinery Design Engineer to design and develop core rotating components that directly determine the performance, efficiency, and reliability of turbine systems. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on compressors, turbines, blades, and vanes, combining CAD design with aerodynamic, thermodynamic, and structural analysis. The engineer will work across design, testing, and manufacturing to bring hardware from concept through validation and into production. RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and optimize turbomachinery components, including compressors, turbines, blades, and vanes.Develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings using tools such as NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks.Perform aerodynamic and thermodynamic analysis to meet performance and efficiency targets.Conduct structural and fatigue analysis using FEA tools (ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar).Collaborate with CFD engineers to validate and refine flow path designs.Support testing activities, including rig setup, instrumentation, and data analysis.Produce design documentation, specifications, and interface requirements.REQUIREMENTSYou Have Turbomachinery Design Experience: You bring 5+ years of hands-on experience designing rotating machinery such as gas turbines, compressors, or propulsion systems. You Can Own the Full Design Lifecycle: You have taken components from concept through analysis, manufacturing, testing, and iteration. You are not limited to a single phase of engineering. You Bring Strong Engineering Fundamentals: You have a deep understanding of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and structural mechanics and can apply these principles to real hardware. You Are Proficient in Design & Analysis Tools: You are experienced with CAD platforms (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks) and have working knowledge of FEA and CFD tools.Preferred SkillsYou Have Experience with Gas Turbine or Turbomachinery Systems: You have worked on gas turbine engines, compressors, or other rotating machinery and understand the performance, design, and operational considerations of high-speed rotating components. You Understand Rotating Machinery Dynamics: You have familiarity with rotor dynamics, vibration, and fatigue considerations and understand how these factors influence component design and long-term reliability. You’ve Designed Flowpath Components: You have experience designing blades, vanes, or other aerodynamic components and understand how geometry impacts flow behavior and efficiency.COMPENSATIONA meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary plus performance-based bonus. To apply, please submit your resume and cover letter, preferably in MS Word format, to Derek Bush . A fully detailed, formal specification will be sent to “top-level”, qualified candidates.
