Premium BartenderLocation: Queens, NYPurpose: The Premium Bartender delivers an elevated guest experience through exceptional service and precise cocktail and food execution at upscale airport dining establishments. This role requires expertise in premium spirits, wine, beer, and crafted cocktails while engaging guests through personalized beverage education and maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence in food and beverage service.Essential Functions:Greets customers warmly and takes food and beverage orders while providing personalized service recommendationsEngages and educates guests on premium spirits and specialty cocktails, making informed recommendations based on customer preferences to ensure an elevated dining experienceUtilizes high-quality spirits, liqueurs, fresh fruits, herbs, and spices to create exceptional craft cocktails and beverages for guestsMaintains bottles, glassware, and bar displays in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and beverage promotionSupports food and bar service preparation by following recipes and product directions precisely for food items and beverage mixingMaintains quality control and timeliness of all food and beverage items while adhering to ServSafe Food Handler certification requirementsOperates POS systems following established cash handling policies and procedures for all transactions using company cash recyclersManages inventory levels appropriately and ensures proper stock rotation and storage of bar productsFollows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and managing intoxicated guests in accordance with ServSafe Alcohol certification standardsMaintains cleanliness and sanitation protocols of bar areas including completion of daily assigned tasks throughout operations and prior to shift end or closingReporting Relationship & Role Information: The Premium Bartender typically reports to the Store Manager or General Manager. This is a non-exempt, hourly position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible for overtime pay. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:Education and Experience: Requires 3+ years of closely related bartending experience in high-volume bar or fast-casual dining environment. Requires 1 year of experience in high-end cocktail bar environment. Must meet state minimum age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.Specialized Training: Ability to obtain ServSafe Food Handler and Alcohol certifications. Training that leads to strong knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits including preparation and presentation techniques.Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits: Understanding of current cocktail trends and recipes. Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to interact with public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner. Strong communication skills to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and policy documents. Ability to converse comfortably with customers and provide educational information about beverages. Capability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced airport environment. Flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Attention to detail for precise cocktail preparation and presentation. Multitasking abilities to manage multiple orders and customers simultaneously.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly. Capability to walk, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods to perform normal job functions. Manual dexterity for handling glassware, bar tools, and beverage preparation equipment. Ability to frequently immerse hands in water and water diluted with chemical cleaning solutions.
