Associate (Controls System) Engineer
The Associate (Control Systems) Engineer: is an entry level position within the technical delivery structure of Huffman Engineering. This position contributes as a technical resource for external customer project delivery. Executes work within a multi-discipline controls system team. This position requires acquisition and knowledge of automation skills and technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering/Design Reasoning -is expected to apply engineering skills to complex systems and processes. Understanding the proven project methodology at Huffman Engineering,
Software Configuration -Prepares, tests, codes, and debugs moderately complex programs. Creates program logic by analyzing requirements and workflows, then writes code based on those plans or existing specifications for industrial or utility software. Learns and applies multiple programming languages (such as PLCs and HMIs) to test and improve programs. Works under general supervision and as part of a project team.
Documentation - Reviews and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine if a design or application is feasible. Uses information from manuals, parts data, instructions, internal resources, and training to decide next steps. Combines information from multiple sources to take appropriate, informed action and demonstrate understanding of processes. Prepares documentation such as project summaries, CAD drawings, study reports, test results, and manuals.
Assembly, Installation, and Testing -Expected to use measurement tools and hand tools, understand basic instrumentation, complete simple wiring, and help with installation. Performs basic troubleshooting, makes recommendations based on findings, and can read and understand basic drawings.
Team Accountability -Demonstrates basic teamwork skills, including communication, collaboration, and following instructions. Works closely with project teams and contributes early on. Helps with technical tasks, manages their own work, and regularly shares progress with the team and customers using approved communication methods.
Generally spend more time in a Client/Vendor/People Management role than other engineers on the same project and are recognized for their ability to develop client relationships and gain people's trust by their technical leadership

0-3 years
Degreed Engineer from an Accredited program - Ability to apply Engineering Skills

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
