The primary function of this position is to maintain organized efficient routes that will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all paratransit drivers. This position provides customer service by assisting the drivers to pick up passengers on time while providing them with the most direct trip possible. Responsibilities include dispatching of paratransit drivers for demand responsive program. Work requires the ability to plan, arrange and prioritize trips accordingly. Supervision is received from an administrative superior who reviews work through observation and written reports. This position reports to the Paratransit Operations Supervisor and/or Operations Manager, Scheduling and Dispatch. This position is safety-sensitive.QUALIFICATIONSGraduation from high school or equivalent recognized certification (GED). Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a Dispatch position or Transportation Industry. Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel. This position is safety-sensitive.PREFERENCESKnowledge of ADA. Experience using two-way communication systems. Experience working with transit scheduling software (i.e. Trapeze PASS) and experience with dispatching duties; Bilingual-English/Spanish preferred.
