Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser.Overview: We are seeking a database operations engineer to support the health, performance, and reliability of our database environments. You'll work cross functionally with several data/technology teams across the firm, giving you real visibility into how data powers the business. In this role, you partner closely with senior members of the team, monitoring performance, supporting critical maintence and troubleshooting efforts through automation, documentation, performance tuning, and data migration/disaster recovery efforts. If you're looking to sharpen your skills, work alongside experienced database professionals, and grow into a more senior DBA role over time, this is the opportunity to do it!Responsibilities: Monitor database health, performance, and availability Assist in performing routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and patchingHelp troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents Support the creation and maintenance of database documentation, runbooks, and standard operating proceduresAssist with user access management, permissions, and basic security configurationsWrite and optimize basic SQL queries for data retrieval, reporting, and troubleshootingParticipate in on-call rotation for database operations support (with senior backup)Collaborate with software engineers and analysts to support data needs across teamsHelp identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasksLearn and apply database performance tuning fundamentals (indexing, query optimization)Assist with data migration, replication, and disaster recovery testing effortsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field — or 3+ years of equivalent practical experienceUnderstanding of relational database concepts (tables, indexes, keys, normalization)Familiarity with SQL and writing queriesExposure to at least one database platform (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL)Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailGood communication skills and eagerness to learnBasic understanding of Linux/Windows operating systemsAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a teamExposure to scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python)Understanding of backup/recovery conceptsFamiliarity with monitoring toolsKnowledge of version control (Git)Benefits: Discretionary bonus eligibilityMedical, dental, and vision insuranceHSA, FSA, and Dependent Care OptionsEmployer Paid Group Term Life and AD&D insuranceVoluntary LTD, Life & AD&D insuranceFlexible Vacation policyRetirement plan with employer matchDV is not accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms. It represents a good-faith estimate of the base pay we anticipate offering, with actual compensation determined by your experience, education, skills, and performance throughout the interview process. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus (at DV Trading's discretion) and DV Trading's benefits package, including the benefits listed above.Base Salary Range$120,000—$150,000 USD
