The Accounting Associate will handle day-to-day financial tasks, including maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial statements. Additional responsibilities include supporting financial decision-making processes, ensuring the accuracy of accounting transactions, and leveraging accounting software for data entry and reporting. What You'll DoFinancial Review & Reporting — Review property and fund-level financials on a recurring basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness across the portfolio.Expense Processing — Code, process, and track expenses across entities, maintaining proper documentation and approval workflows.Fee Calculations & Collections — Calculate asset management and property management fees per each deal’s governing documents and monitor that fees are being invoiced and collected on schedule.Audit & Tax Coordination — Serve as the primary internal point of contact for outside auditors and CPAs, coordinating year-end audits and tax return preparation across all entities.Distributions & Waterfall Processing — Calculate and process investor distributions in accordance with partnership agreements, including preferred returns, promote structures, and waterfall tiers.Investor Management Platform — Own and manage our investor management software, keeping investor data, capital accounts, and reporting current and accurate.Entity & Compliance Maintenance — Maintain formation documents, registered agent filings, annual reports, and related records for all company entities.Process Improvement — Identify gaps in existing accounting workflows and implement systematic controls and standards that scale with the firm’s growth.QualificationsProficiency in preparing Financial Statements and analyzing financial dataExperience with Journal Entries and solid knowledge of general accounting practicesStrong Analytical Skills and a clear understanding of financial principlesFamiliarity with Accounting Software and its application for efficient data managementBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldAttention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site environmentPrior experience in real estate or investment sectors is a plusCPA certification or progress toward CPA designation is highly preferred
