Electrical Engineer II – Dispatchable Generation ProjectsLocation: Hybrid – Mead, CO areaDuration: 12-Month Contract (High likelihood of extension or conversion)Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday with overtime available during construction phasesWork Model: Hybrid – Remote, office, and field/site support requiredInterview Process: Virtual panel interview via Microsoft Teams (camera on)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to support large-scale dispatchable generation projects, including combustion turbine facilities near Mead, Colorado. This role will support projects currently in both construction and design phases and will play a critical role in ensuring engineering quality, construction compliance, and successful project execution.The engineer will provide technical expertise across multiple projects, focusing on electrical engineering reviews, RFIs, submittals, design interpretation, and construction support. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with utility-scale power generation experience who wants exposure to major infrastructure projects and long-term career growth opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and evaluate engineering drawings, technical submittals, studies, and analysesManage and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Non-Conformance Requests (NCRs)Ensure construction activities comply with approved engineering designs and specificationsCollaborate with EPC contractors, project engineers, construction managers, inspectors, and project controls teamsSupport troubleshooting and resolution of electrical engineering and design issues during constructionCoordinate with internal teams including operations, environmental, siting/land rights, supply chain, and project managementAssist with regulatory and permitting coordination involving local, state, and federal agenciesIdentify specification variances and communicate required approvals internallyTrack engineering documentation and maintain organized project recordsParticipate in onsite construction support activities and field coordination meetingsRequired Qualifications9+ years of electrical engineering experience3+ years of experience supporting dispatchable generation projects, including combustion turbines or similar technologiesBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent industry experienceStrong understanding of engineering design drawings, construction compliance, RFIs, NCRs, and contract scope managementExperience supporting utility, power generation, EPC, or large industrial construction projectsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skillsAbility and willingness to travel to project sites and work onsite during construction activitiesPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) certificationExperience working within utility or large matrixed organizationsPrior experience supporting large-frame combustion turbine projectsFamiliarity with:ProjectWiseBluebeamProcoreMicrosoft Office SuiteMicrosoft TeamsSAP (preferred)Work EnvironmentThis role operates within a highly collaborative project environment involving engineering, construction, operations, environmental, and regulatory stakeholders.
