Switchboard Engineer II

Job Description The Switchboard Engineer II is responsible for Designing Low Voltage Switchboards and Panelboards. This role requires great attention to detail with a preference for self-starting mentality. All products must be designed using applicable safety standards & regulations (National Electric Code, Underwriters, Laboratories, etc).The Engineer will also be responsible for mentoring and leading other team members as needed.Primary Job Responsibilities:Design 3D sheet metal parts with flat patternsComplete 3D Assemblies (150+ Item BOM)Follow design life cycle states and design standardsCreate wiring diagrams using PLCs, breaker accessories, relays, contractors, power supplies, etc.Create and understand 2D Front View, One-Line/Single-Line and Layout drawings using CAD SoftwareEnsure clear communication between Engineering, Manufacturing and other key stakeholders.Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from clients and develop design solutionsEnsure clear communication with suppliers/vendors on an as-needed basisQualifications / Experience:Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar4 - 8 years of professional experience (working for UL891 OEM or Equivalent)Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Autodesk Suite preferred)Proficient with Microsoft Office ProductsExcellent Oral & Written Communication SkillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with UL891, UL67, UL508A or UL1558Experience reading/understanding National Electric CodeExperience sizing conductors and OCPDsExperience with Control Circuits and LogicWho are we:Raycap Inc. creates products that protect and support the world’s most valuable assets.
