Overview:
As a procurement professional at Lockheed Martin, you will source, negotiate and purchase machinery, materials and services to support operations. You will analyze price trends, manage supplier performance, and craft cost-saving strategies while ensuring quality and on-time delivery. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams and may prepare RFPs. This role blends data-driven buying with strategic supplier management in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate and purchase machinery, equipment, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services and supplies for operations
- Analyze data to determine feasibility and establish price objectives
- Monitor supplier performance and price trends
- Identify opportunities to leverage material acquisitions and drive cost savings
- Track and report data related to prices and processes
- Negotiate prices, review proposals, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, and manage orders and payments
- Verify delivery, maintain records, and follow up on orders
- May prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) and bid packages
Key requirements:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a virtual, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with limited managerial oversight
- Experience in end-to-end buying and contract closeout including terms and conditions
- Data mining and synthesizing data to plan priorities
- Proven negotiation experience for cost savings and favorable terms
- Knowledge of terms and conditions and deal exceptions
- Tableau dashboard experience
- Experience with electrical commodity buying (preferred)
- Cross-functional collaboration with contracts, finance, operations, material planning, engineering, quality and accounts payable
