The City of Valdosta Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer. Position involves a variety of law enforcement tasks, including but not limited to, assure protection of people and property; patrols assigned geographic area of the city; responds to calls relayed by the dispatcher including domestic disputes, assaults, burglaries, traffic accidents, and others; conducts preliminary inquiries, field interviews, and follow-up investigations.Base Police Officer Salary (with incentives) - $51,244.37Earn up to $55,244.37 annually based on additional incentives.Additional Incentives:$1,000 annually for partial college or partial military$2,000 annually for both partial college and partial military$2,000 annually for full college or full military$3,000 annually for a combination of partial military/college and full military/college$4,000 annually for both full military and full college Requirements At least 20 years of ageA United States CitizenNo felony convictions according to O.C.G.A. 35-8-8No family violence related convictions according to O.C.G.A. 19-13-1At least a minimum of a High School Diploma or GEDA valid Driver's LicenseMust satisfactorily complete a background investigation, oral interview, polygraph test, physical agility test, psychological and emotional stability test, pre-employment physical and drug screenGeorgia POST Certified Law Enforcement Officers are encouraged to apply.Salary Description
