Inv Control - Sales (Used Car Acquisition)The Inventory Control Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for the following:Key Responsibilities:Acquire Inventory: Source used vehicles through auctions (Manheim, ADESA), trade-ins, lease returns, and private sellers to maintain optimal pre-owned inventory across Chevrolet and Volvo buyer profiles.Evaluate Vehicles: Accurately appraise used vehicles using tools such as vAuto, Kelley Blue Book, CARFAX, and Manheim Market Report, considering brand standards, condition, mileage, and local market demand.Align with Brand Strategy: Purchase vehicles that fit the unique profiles of both Chevrolet (value, utility, domestic appeal) and Volvo (luxury, safety, European design) customers.Negotiate Purchases: Negotiate with wholesalers, auctioneers, and private sellers to secure inventory at favorable prices, ensuring target gross margins.Monitor Market Trends: Analyze pre-owned vehicle pricing, demand shifts, and inventory turnover rates specific to Chevy and Volvo products in the region.Coordinate Logistics: Manage the transportation and delivery of acquired vehicles to the dealership or reconditioning facility.Documentation: Ensure accurate processing of purchase documents, vehicle titles, and required reporting for compliance and dealership systems.Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with the sales and reconditioning teams to prioritize acquisition of vehicles with high resale potential and fast turnaround.Qualifications:Education:High school diploma or GED (required)Degree in Automotive Management, Business, or related field (preferred)Experience:2+ years in used car buying, appraisals, or dealership operationsExperience working with both mainstream (Chevrolet) and luxury (Volvo or similar) brands is strongly preferredFamiliarity with manufacturer Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) standardsSkills:Deep understanding of used vehicle valuations and acquisition strategyStrong negotiation and relationship-building skillsProficiency in tools such as vAuto, Dealertrack, AuctionAccess, CDK, or Reynolds & ReynoldsExcellent time management, organization, and decision-making skillsValid driver's license and clean driving recordWork Environment: Based at the dealership with frequent off-site visits to auctions and sellersFast-paced, competitive environment requiring attention to detail and responsivenessMay include some evening and weekend hours, depending on market needs and auction schedulesAbout Ferman Established in 1895, Ferman soon became Tampa's first retail automobile dealer.
